Supported Configuration Formats

The application supports several configuration formats. Configuration formats are the file types in which Amnezia can save or accept your VPN settings.

.vpn – AmneziaVPN's native format. A file with the .vpn extension will be saved if you press "Share VPN" on the bottom panel, then choose "For the AmneziaVPN app."

.ovpn – the native format for the OpenVPN protocol. It can be used in the OpenVPN, OpenVPN Connect, and other applications that support the native OpenVPN format.

.conf – the native format for the WireGuard protocol. It can be used in the WireGuard app and other applications that support the native WireGuard format.

.json – supported by X-Ray Reality in the .json format. You can also import configurations from XRay VMESS and VLESS, but it is not possible to create a VPN with VMESS and VLESS protocol support using Amnezia.

.json – ShadowSocks keys in .json format are supported, but ShadowSocks files in .json format are not supported.
