SFTP File Storage

Overview

In addition to creating and using VPNs, AmneziaVPN can deploy file storage on your virtual server. After installation, you can connect to the storage through any SFTP client, for example FileZilla, or mount the storage as a local folder on your computer.

Installing SFTP

  1. On the main screen, click the server name.
  2. Click the settings icon next to the server name.
  3. Go to the Services tab and select SFTP file sharing service.
  4. Leave the default port 222 or enter another port, then click Install.

Viewing SFTP Connection Data

  1. After installation, go to the Services tab again and select SFTP file sharing service.
  2. Select SFTP service server settings.

The settings screen shows the host, port, username, and password. Use these values to connect to the file storage through any SFTP client.

Connecting Through FileZilla

  1. Open the FileZilla website and click Download FileZilla Client.

  1. Download FileZilla Client for your operating system.

  1. If FileZilla opens an edition selection page, choose the free FileZilla edition and click Download.

  1. Install FileZilla.
  2. Open FileZilla. In the Host field, enter the server IP address with the sftp:// prefix, for example sftp://199.10.20.171.
  3. Enter the username, password, and port from the SFTP settings in AmneziaVPN.
  4. Click Quickconnect.

If the server folder appears in Remote site, the connection is successful and you can use the file storage through FileZilla.
