When installing AmneziaVPN on Windows, an error appears stating that the system could not find MSVCP140.dll or MSVCP141.dll. What should I do?

The msvcp140.dll file is one of the libraries included in the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 components, which are required to run certain programs. By default, it is located in the folders C:\Windows\System32\ and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\, but in some cases, it may also be needed in the folder containing the executable file of the program being launched.

Solution

To fix this issue, run the installer vc_redist.x64.exe, which is located in the folder where AmneziaVPN is installed.
By default, this is C:\Program Files\AmneziaVPN.
